Week 8 of My Weight Loss Journey

Well, today starts week 8 of the weight loss journey, and I decided it would be a good time to start journaling my journey.

I never thought I would make it 8 weeks. What's even more amazing to me is that it has been a strong 8 weeks. There really haven't been too many bumps in the road yet. It helps a lot that Grant has been so supportive and on the journey with me. He is keeping me on track and his compliments feel pretty good too.

We have not started a "diet". We have started a new way of life. We have changed our diet, but we are not dieting. Each day that passes becomes a little easier to accept the changes. It makes it easier when you can actually see changes to your body. Currently, I have lost 12.5 pounds. Grant is down 32.5 pounds --- in 8 weeks! I don't know how many inches I have lost in my waist total, because I haven't been tracking from the beginning. But I do know that I have lost 3 inches in 3 weeks.

My current goals are:

1. To lose 15 pounds by March 15th. There's money on this one, and I have 9 pounds to go. If I keep losing at a rate of 2 pounds a week, I can make this goal easily.

2. To be in a size 12 by the start of camping season. This is the end of April. This seems pretty realistic. (Pants sizes vary so much and right now I can wear 14's in the Levi's I usually wear -- all of the ones I have right now are 16's -- But my Gap jeans that are 16's are finally fitting again) So I guess in order to be in a 12 by the end of April I will have to pick a brand that will fit me in that size right? And if I find one that fits me in a 10, all the better :)

3. My main goal is to lose 50 pounds. I don't really have a set date for this one. I just know that my goal is not to stop until I am down 50 pounds.
